George Clinton

George Clinton & The Parliament Funkadelics

Sat, May 5 at 7:00 PM

Cinco De Mayo is the kickoff to the Coachman Park Concert Series with George Clinton & The Parliament Funkadelics. Recording both as Parliament and Funkadelic, George Clinton revolutionized R&B during the ’70s, twisting soul music into funk by adding influences from several late-’60s acid heroes: Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, and Sly Stone. The Parliament/Funkadelicmachine ruled black music during the ’70s, capturing over 40 R&B hit singles (including three number ones) and recording three platinum albums.

 John Fogerty & ZZ Top

John Fogerty & ZZ Top

Sat, Jun 2 at 7:00 PM

Rock Icons, John Fogerty & ZZ Top are joining forces to bring the Blues & Bayou Tour to Coachman Park! This will be a four-hour event with a third artist being added at a future time. Lead singer and guitarist of Creedence Clearwater Revival and Grammy®-award winning solo artist, Fogerty's prolific songwriting helped pen some of the most memorable songs in rock and roll, including Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising, Fortunate Son, Centerfield, Change in the Weather and Rock and Roll Girls, among many others. ZZ Top plays red-hot Texas boogie and blues, and no one does it better - or has done it longer - than this “little ol’ band from Texas.” The trio’s enduring appeal owes much to their mastery of and feel for rootsy forms.
